Music rehearsal rooms
So you get the right acoustics in your rehearsal room.
With our products we offer you a wide range of possibilities to improve the acoustics in the rehearsal room as well as to insulate it from the outside, so that you do not disturb your neighbours excessively. In the following, we will explain how to get these two problems under control in your rehearsal room.
Insulating musical instruments or the drums and improving the acoustics in the room are the main focus. These instruments thereby cover pretty much the entire spectrum of the frequency scale from very low frequencies (bass drum) to very high frequencies (guitar). Which materials you need depends on what you want to achieve.
If you want to dampen the acoustics in a room so that the noise level is reduced for the player or the people who are in the room, it is best to use our napped foam or flat foam or?
?Melamine foams Basotect? G+.
The panels are available in the colours anthracite (PUR foam) and in light grey or white (acoustic foam made of Basotect). Please note that dark foams darken the room light.
An easy way to find out which board thickness and amount of foam you need is to go into the room, play the instruments and listen to which ""tones"" are most obtrusive. Is it shrill highs that almost hurt the ear? Is it booming, indefinable bass? Or both?
If you have problems with the trebles, then our open-pored nubbly foams or pyramid foams are ideal. As a rule, thicknesses of 30 - 60 mm are sufficient to dampen the trebles accordingly. If, on the other hand, you have problems with low frequencies - i.e. bass - then you should use our absorbers made of Basotect to achieve a rich, defined bass that does not boom or reverberate for too long. Alternatively, you can also choose pyramid foam or napped foam with a higher thickness of 60 mm or more to achieve increased damping in the lower frequency range as well. Our bass absorber Silphon?Bass Traps made of PUR or melamine foam for the corner area are also very suitable for this.
Drums play a special role in the room and should be additionally damped. In any case we recommend to build a platform to eliminate structure-borne noise. Use our cellular rubber or recycled foam panels with 20 mm thickness and lay them on the floor. Place a pressboard on it and then place the drum set on it. Thereby the vibrations are decoupled from the floor and the drumming is additionally reduced. In addition, you should install absorbers with a higher board thickness directly at the place where the drumset is placed on the adjacent walls in order to dampen the vibrations more effectively.
You should choose our acoustic foam made of Basotect if, on the one hand, you are looking for a very high-quality damping made of foam and, on the other hand, if you want to use a light, non-yellowing foam that leaves the room light bright and cosy or if you also attach importance to a high level of fire protection.?
For a more cost-effective variant, you could also use our nubbed foams or flat foams. If you want it to look even more attractive, you can of course also lay circles, ovals etc. - the more you line it, the less reverberation you will have in the corresponding frequency range, depending on the type of panel. You can simply glue many of our foams to the wall or ceiling.?
