Noise control/soundproofing for rail vehicles | Silphon®6 melamine foam, aluminum lamination

The Silphon®6 melamine resin foam (Basotect® is a registered trademark of BASF SE) is laminated using a thin, pure aluminum foil. This cover layer makes it impermeable to water and air (vapor barrier) and the surface can therefore be cleaned easily. The material can be used for thermal insulation and for soundproofing to a limited extent. Melamine foams are used in numerous applications, e.g., ventilation ducts, thanks to their excellent flame-retardant properties (DIN 5510-2 and CEN TS/45545 R1). Their impermeability to water, oil, and fuels is another vital advantage. We offer this high-quality material in standard sheets of different thicknesses or in custom dimensions on request.
