Silphon®7 melamine foam/basotect, the light-weight, flame-retardant acoustic foam for insulation of rail vehicle roofs and sidewalls.
The Silphon®7 melamine foam (Basotect ® is a registered trademark of BASF SE) is a flexible, open-cell foam made of melamine resin, a thermoset plastic. Melamine foams are used for insulation in ceilings and walls of rail vehicles thanks to their excellent noise absorption capacity and flame-retardant properties. The low density of 9 kg/m3 is an important advantage over other foam products. The Silphon®7 melamine foam is certified in accordance with the DIN 5510-2 and CEN TS / 45545 R1 fire protection certificates. We offer a complete diagram set of tailor-made insulation blanks based on your rail vehicle models. This material has proven itself excellently in countless rail vehicle projects!
