Vibra®PMMA XT acrylic glass sheets
Vibra®acrylic glass sheets

Vibra®Acrylic glass sheets XT, for single, serial, and custom products.

Acrylic glass (PMMA XT), which is produced by extrusion, is also commonly referred to as perspex and is used everywhere where high demands are placed on the appearance as well as the transparency. The material has a very hard surface as well as great weather resistance and anti-aging properties, which make it ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications. With our production know-how, we can process acrylic glass in-house with the following procedures: milling, bending, engraving, polishing, lasering, gluing, and much more. The material is characterized by its good light transmission, the hard surface, and its anti-aging properties. You can order the material in standard sheets or in custom dimensions based on diagrams. Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

The materials acrylic glass GS and acrylic glass XT are two different materials due to the production process. Acrylic glass GS is cast and has an excellent surface quality, is weatherproof and age-resistant for years, does not yellow and the surface does not become rough. Acrylic glass GS has a higher surface quality and is less prone to stress cracking than XT. Acrylic glass GS also has advantages in processing, it has a wider processing scope and is particularly suitable for individual production and small series. In principle, one can assume a longer service life for acrylic glass GS. Acrylic glass XT (acrylic glass extruded) is produced in an extrusion process. The acrylic granulate is melted and then brought into sheet, rod or tube form. The surface quality and resistance to weathering and ageing can be compared with that of acrylic glass GS.i The processing of acrylic XT is somewhat more complicated, as it melts more quickly during processing. The advantages of Acryl XT are better bonding, easier formability and a lower price.

Acrylic glass is very shatterproof and stable. Acrylic glass has a brilliant optical effect, is translucent and UV-stable. By polishing the edges you can give the material an additional shine. Acrylic glass is frost-resistant and heat-resistant. When used outdoors, acrylic glass withstands years of weathering without becoming brittle. The easy-care surface of acrylic glass is another advantage. Fingerprints or dirt can be easily removed with cloths, and even scratches on acrylic glass can be removed with special agents. The most important point that speaks for the use of acrylic is the cost factor. Acrylic glass is generally cheaper than glass.

Acrylic glass is often used in window construction, facade construction and the production of advertising space and company signs. In the interior area as room dividers, shower partitions, acrylic glass furniture, picture frame sight glasses ecc.

Acrylic glass can be processed in many different ways. With laser processing technology, components or company signs can be cut to size with millimetre precision. At the same time, laser cutting results in a cleanly polished edge; no post-processing is necessary. Acrylic glass can also be processed mechanically very well. With our production know-how, we can process acrylic glass in our company as follows: milling, bending, engraving, polishing, gluing and much more. In case of mechanical processing, the edges should be polished in a separate step. After processing, acrylic glass can also be printed or simply used as transparent sheets.

Yes, the PMMA XT / Acrylic sheets from Vibraplast are FDA compliant.

Plexiglas is also acrylic glass and has exactly the same properties. However, Plexiglas is a registered brand name.
