The invention of foam

Nowadays foam can be discovered in all possible variations and it is impossible to imagine everyday life without it. The story is absolutely spectacular, because foam was not invented intentionally and was created more by chance.
The invention of the foam (polyurethane PUR) in 1937 by the chemist Dr. Otto Bayer/ Farbenfabriken Bayer (today Bayer AG) is more due to chance than to specific research. By chance, the starting products for the foam were mixed together in a waste bin in the laboratory and a chemical reaction occurred. Thereby the worldwide success story of the foam which is used in today's modern world in various applications began. Foams are characterized by a very low density and thermal conductivity with low strength. A distinction is made between closed-cell, open-cell and mixed-cell foams. ?The quality is determined by the compression hardness and the density. The volume weight defines the dimensional stability and the long-term resilience of the foam. The compression hardness or indentation hardness indicates the force required to compress the foam.
Thanks to the wide range of quality and properties, Vibraplast foams can be used in all kinds of fields such as design and advertising or health and leisure. We, the foam center of Switzerland, offer you with the most modern machinery, a wide range of quality and professional engineering optimal conditions in the "world of foam" (05.03.2019/UDU)
